This week music, art, physical education classes begin. Next Monday we will have psychomotor at 8:10. Please volunteer on Monday a.m. for our one hour physical education program at 8:10.
Language Arts. Wit & Wisdom, A Great Heart. This week we focus on figurative language. “How does someone show a great heart, figuratively?” In preparing to write an essay we will learn about the focus statement.
Math. Module 1, Place Value. Mid-Module test on Thursday, September 6th. This quiz will include lessons 1 - 9. Students should use exit tickets and the workbook to study for the test.
This week in math: Compare numbers based on meanings of the digits using >, <, and =. Students will round multi-digit numbers to the thousands and ten thousands place using the vertical number line. From this students will understand how to round multi-digit numbers to any place value using real world applications.
Social Studies. Geography. Learning how to find Latitude and Longitude. California’s four regions.
Science. STEM. Science Technology Engineering and Math. Setting up solar ovens. Students use the scientific method to identify the problem, brainstorm, design, build and reflect on their solar ovens.
