Conferences take place from November 3 – 9. On Monday, October 23, at 7:00 p.m. I will send out a Google doc for parents to sign up for a conference time during that week. Click on the document and select a time. I have one entire conference day – all day November 3rd - that has been made available to upper grade teachers due to classroom size. If you are able to attend that day – GREAT!
Halloween Parade at Welby to take place on October 31 at 8:15 a.m. When the parade is over, our class will have a small brunch in the classroom. Mrs. Chatterjee has sent out a google sign up for snacks. After the brunch, students will change into school day clothing and the real fun will begin (academics)!
Did your child tell you that he/she ran a mile on Friday morning?
Math. Math. Module 3, Lessons 14 – 19. Students use arrays and area models to solve division word problems involving remainders. Students practice dividing two-digit dividends with a remainder in the ones place using place value disks and decompose the tens remainder into ones. The long division algorithm is introduced in lesson 16.
Language Arts. Continuing with the Great Heart unit. Students prepare to write an essay comparing the literal and figurative meaning of the word “heart.”
Vocabulary quiz on Wednesday.
Science. Electromagnets. Investigation and reading. I-check quiz on Friday, October 26th. Composition notebook check on Friday.
Social Studies. Regions. We will complete a California region relief map on Friday.
Health. The human heart. The majority of the heart information coming from the language arts program and the resources provided from Great Heart.
