Books and Blankets: March 3rd. Parents are invited to read with children in the classroom from 8:15 – 9:15 a.m. Please bring books to read with your child.
March 10. Fourth Grade Gold Rush Day at Welby Way. Volunteer information will go home on Monday, February 27th.
Language Arts. Reading and Writing from the Extreme Settings Great Minds program. Core Literature: Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. Focus Question: How does setting influence character and plot development? Content Framing Question: Lessons include fluency practice, summary writing, exploded moments, prepositional phrases, relative pronouns and clauses. Students have completed their narrative writing assignment.
Writing. Due to shortened hours, students will write paragraphs that relate to Hatchet reading.
Eureka Math: Fractions. Lessons 20 - 23. Mid-Module quiz on Wednesday, March 1.
Science. Energy. Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) FOSS Energy Module. We will investigate energy, build electric circuits powered by D-cells (flashlight batteries), and explore electromagnetism, light, collisions, and waves. Building an understanding that energy is evident when there is motion, electric current, sound, light, or heat, and that energy can travel from place to place. Investigation 1 quiz on Thursday, March 2.
Social Studies. Missions. Students finish their Mission slide project.
Music. 8:10 – 8:40 Tuesday
Physical Education. Psychomotor on Monday - we need volunteers to help from 8:05 - 9:00. Class on Wednesday from 10:40 - 11:15.
