We are working to reschedule the field trip to Olivas Adobe on January 23 due to expected large rainstorm coming in on Sunday and Monday. This is an outdoor field trip.
Language Arts. Reading and Writing from the Extreme Settings Great Minds program. This week we will read Mountains by Seymour Simon and sections of the book SAS Survival Handbook: Ultimate Guide to Surviving Anywhere as we prepare to start the book, Hatchet. Throughout this unit students have been writing small sections of a narrative using figurative language and strong settings.
Eureka Math: We are moving through Module 4 by combining some lessons and lots of in-class practice with building, measuring, and defining angles and triangles. The final for Module 4 will be on Friday, January 20. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday lessons will include symmetry, scalene, equilateral and isosceles triangles. Each day the lesson will include past lesson review in preparation for Friday’s final test.
Science. Soils, Rocks, and Landforms: Erosion and Deposition. Mapping earth’s surface. Building a topographic map,
Social Studies. Finishing California's four regions. Students will finish the map that was built on Friday.
