The field trip to Olivas Adobe has been rescheduled.  The new date is April 3.

Language Arts.  Reading and Writing from the Extreme Settings Great Minds program.   This week we will continue reading Mountains.  In this information text students work to find reasons for including specific information and “What makes a mountainous environment extreme?” Students will write small sections of their narrative using figurative language and strong settings using the descriptive language in Mountains.

Eureka Math:   End of Module 4 assessment was given on Friday, January 20th.  Most students made mistakes that revealed a lack of understanding of basic concepts.  (See Eureka Math Module 4 summary in December 5 and December 12 blog.)  The concepts that were not clearly understood were discussed in class on Monday.  Students will rework parts of the end of module test for Monday night homework before we move on to Module 5 – Fractions. 

Science.  Soils, Rocks, and Landforms:   Natural Resources.

Social Studies.  Early People in California.

Health.  Personal Health and Physical Activity.

Physical Education.  Good Sportsmanship and Volleyball.
