Curriculum Information
  • English Language Arts: 
    • Novel Study on Esperanza Rising By Pam Nunoz Ryan
    • The Great American Gold Rush by Rhoda Blumberg
  • Technology: google docs, creating a portfolio, SBAC practice
  • Writing: Informative paragraph writing from Newsela articles.  Writing Summaries in Esperanza Rising and character studies.  Universal Declaration of Human Rights is used/studied throughout Esperanza Rising.
  • Poetry:  Metaphors and Series Poems
  • Math: Module 6:  Decimal Fractions.  We have covered this with whiteboard practice throughout the entire year.  The module will be modified to cover what is still needed.  Test on Thursday.  Be able to compare tenths to hundredths.
  • Physical Science Electricity.  Making series and parallel circuits.
  • Social Studies: Gold Rush.  See ELA above for additional reading.
  • Health: Personal Health and Physical Activity.  Chapter 5
  • Genius Hour - Bring in two different items to use for independent work by Monday, May 2, 2016.
  • Physical Education:  Soccer Tournament ALL THIS WEEK.  Psychomotor on Monday.  Running on Tuesday and Wednesday a.m., Friday p.e. will be a continuation of the soccer tournament.
  • Arts:  Ballroom dance on Thursday and Mrs. Faye, visual art, on Friday.  If you are interested in being in the ballroom dance competition on May 21, you must turn in the purple slip that states confirms your availability.  Continue to practice your dance steps at home!
