Completed Work Envelopes will go home on Wednesday. The students’ Social Studies tests, Island of the Blue Dolphins quiz and Math Exit Tickets will be included in the work sent home.
Friday morning is the Halloween Parade. This annual event will take place at 8:15 a.m. on the schoolyard. Come dressed for the event but bring school clothes to wear after the parade. Our class will enjoy brunch in the classroom at 11:30 a.m. If you would like to donate bagels, cream cheese, fruit or juice for the occasion, please email me.
The conference request time slips will go home on Thursday. Conferences take place during the week of November 9th. There is no school on November 11.
This week in Core Literature, we will finish chapters 6 – 9 of Island of the Blue Dolphins. Students read the chapters at home the day before the in-class reading. IBD continues this week with vocabulary, plot, character studies and class discussion. A Thursday October 29 quiz will cover chapters 3 – 5.
Grammar. Using progressive verb tenses, using correct capitalization.
Narrative Writing. Students will begin their second narrative this week. Students will be given a specific subject and information to use in their story.
Math. Continue with Module 3. Multiplication and division. Multiplying using partial product method.
Science with Mrs. Kearns. Life Science will be completed this week.
Social Studies. Fourth grade will have a short review of Native Americans and explorers.
